June 18, 2025Vesta 2025—Spotlight on the Future of Domestic Work andCare Innovation in Italy
The second edition of Vesta, organised by DOMINA, brought together a wide range of stakeholders in Rome to address the most pressing issues in the domestic work sector in Italy.
The event featured a full-day plenary session, exhibition space, and recruitment area, providing a comprehensive platform for discussion, networking, and action. Participants included policymakers, researchers, care associations, and private sector actors, all contributing to a national dialogue on the formalisation of domestic work, workforce training, demographic shifts, and the growing relevance of the Silver Economy.
The conference highlighted the urgent need to strengthen legal protections and professional standards within the domestic work sector, particularly considering Italy’s ageing population and the rising demand for long-term care services. A key focus was placed on ensuring that care provision remains sustainable, inclusive, and responsive to the needs of both workers and families.
One of the standout moments of the event was the presentation of six innovative startups, each offering practical solutions to support independent living and improve the quality of care. From digital tools for care coordination to portable hygiene solutions, these innovations showed the sector’s potential to blend technology with compassionate service.
With its dynamic format and inclusive approach, Vesta has firmly established itself as a key annual event in the care and domestic work landscape.
